Race Day Live The Caddo Parish Grand Jury made significant decisions on January 16, 2025, returning eight true bills for serious crimes in the area.
The Grand Jury indicted four people for murder and four for sexual crimes, underscoring the urgent need for justice in Shreveport and the surrounding Caddo Parish.
Erica Dewuana Hamilton, 26, and Osamaria Lanay Madison, 18, both from Shreveport, were separately indicted for the second-degree murder of Tracey Chapman, 43, on October 4, 2024.
Chapman was fatally shot multiple times while traveling in a van in the Mooretown area of Shreveport. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Powell and Singletary streets.
Chapman’s death marked the 42nd homicide in Shreveport and the 45th in Caddo Parish in 2024. Hamilton’s case is listed under docket No. 406316, and Madison’s case is under docket No. 405574.
Cornelius Treymon Jackson, 32, from Shreveport, was indicted for the second-degree murder of Eric Clinton, 51, on September 25, 2024.
Clinton was stabbed several times near Legardy Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. His death was the 40th homicide in Shreveport and the 43rd in Caddo Parish for the year. Jackson’s case is listed under docket No. 404730.
Shaletha Deloris Arthur, 34, of Shreveport, was charged with the second-degree murder of her spouse, Albert Lott Jr., 32, on December 3, 2024, at their home on Dee Street in the Anderson Island area.
Lott’s death was the 48th homicide in Shreveport and the 51st in Caddo Parish in 2024. Arthur’s case is under docket No. 405479.

Along with the murder cases, four sexual crime charges were filed under seal, with limited details available. Kerwin Kennedy, 28, of Shreveport, is charged with first-degree rape.
Curtis Rivers, 56, also of Shreveport, faces charges of first-degree rape and molestation of a juvenile. Justin Rash, 18, from Keithville, is charged with first-degree rape, and Kennon Burdine Jr., whose age and residence are not yet disclosed, is also charged with first-degree rape.
These indictments reflect the ongoing efforts of Caddo Parish law enforcement and the Grand Jury to address rising crime rates in the region and bring those responsible to justice.
