Deadly Stabbing and Hit-and-Run Incident in Tustin Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Tustin police are looking into a fatal stabbing and a hit-and-run that happened at the same place early Monday morning.

According to a news release from the Tustin Police Department, police responded to the Arbor Ranch Apartments, 15482 Pasadena Ave., at about 12:15 a.m. for complaints of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and a stabbing.

Officers arrived to find a man and a woman on nearby Nisson Road who had been stabbed and hit by a fleeing automobile.

The male ultimately died from his wounds at a local hospital, while the woman “is currently in stable condition and communicating but has significant injuries,” according to authorities.

About two hours later, police detained 18-year-old Jan Daniel Lopez of Santa Ana when he was driving in the 1200 block of North Kramer Avenue.

According to KTLA’s Chip Yost, Lopez is suspected of stabbing and driving in a hit-and-run.

According to jail records, Lopez is currently being housed in the Intake Release Center. His bond amount and the next scheduled court date were not provided.
