Draymond Green, a forward for the Golden State Warriors, recently shared his thoughts on Kevin Durant’s scoring abilities and compared him to Kyrie Irving, a star player for the Dallas Mavericks.
Green, who won two NBA championships alongside Durant, made headlines by suggesting that Durant should not be considered the NBA’s best scorer, despite his impressive scoring record. He pointed out similarities between Durant and Irving during an episode of the “Draymond Green Show.”
The relationship between Green and Durant has been under scrutiny, especially after a physical altercation between Green and another player. Durant publicly expressed concern for Green’s behaviour, prompting a response from Green during his podcast.
Green clarified his comparison between Durant and Irving, stating that he meant it as a compliment to Irving’s exceptional scoring abilities. He explained that while Durant may face challenges due to his height and ball-handling responsibilities, Irving’s versatility and skill set make him almost impossible to defend against.
Green emphasized Irving’s proficiency in shooting from various positions on the court and his ability to finish at the rim with both hands. He highlighted Irving’s knack for making difficult shots and described him as one of the best scorers in the NBA.
