David Lubin, the father of 20-year-old Sgt. Rose Ida Lubin, who tragically lost her life while serving in the Israeli Army, has entered the political arena by qualifying for Georgia Senate District 40. Sgt. Lubin was killed in Jerusalem while patrolling Herod’s Gate, a tragic incident that sparked David Lubin’s involvement in politics.
David Lubin’s journey into politics was influenced by his daughter’s death and his observation of Senator Sally Harrell’s actions regarding a bill defining antisemitism. The bill was eventually signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp on January 31, 2024.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, David Lubin chose the University of Georgia for his education and later settled in Atlanta after graduating in 1999.
He established his commercial construction company two years later. Lubin, a family man with five children, emphasizes pragmatism and compromise in problem-solving, drawing from his experience as a small business owner.
Georgia Senate District 40 includes Chamblee, Doraville, Dunwoody, Tucker, and parts of Brookhaven and Peachtree Corners. If elected, Lubin would be the only Jewish member in Georgia’s Senate, aligning with Representative Esther Panitch in Congress, who is the state’s sole Jewish House member.
