Governor Kathy Hochul Announces Major Expansion of Suffolk Crime Analysis Center to Combat Crime on Long Island!

The upgraded center features state-of-the-art technology, including a 24-foot-wide video wall. It can now accommodate up to 45 staff members from various agencies, such as the NYPD, MTA Police, and New York Air National Guard.

The improvements have already led to notable results. Between 2022 and 2023, shootings decreased by 39%, and gunfire injuries dropped by 35%.

She stated, “Crime analysts play a critical role in supporting investigations. At our centers, these experts collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to use technology and data for strategic, targeted crime prevention.
