Human Remains Discovered by Two Individuals in Remote Wooded Area of Southwestern Wisconsin

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On Monday, two people in southwestern Wisconsin called the police after finding what looked like human remains in a heavily wooded area.

The Platteville Police Department says that on the evening of September 2, officers were called to what they only called a highly wooded area of Platteville.

The police stated that the person who was found was “unidentified and deceased.”

The Wisconsin Department of Forensic Sciences’ Crime Scene Response Unit (CSRU) helped the Platteville Police Department process the scene and find the bodies. Crews worked from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

Officers are still trying to identify the person who died while they look into how they died.
