BOWLING GREEN – A warrant was been issued for a woman who reportedly walked away from the Wood County Committee on Aging kitchen while on work release on Thursday (2/27) around 1 p.m.
Taylor Michalski, 27, Toledo, reportedly walked away while she was on work release at the Wood County Committee on Aging kitchen, which is located next door to the corrections center, at 1740 E. Gypsy Lane Road. The inmate was wearing a blue sweatshirt and brown sweatpants when she allegedly escaped.
Security footage revealed Michalski exiting the kitchen and heading towards an open field. Furthermore, a recorded phone call featured a conversation between Michalski and a male individual who mentioned being in the vicinity to assess the kitchen’s location.
Surveillance of the phone calls also reportedly included a phone call the day before the escape, between Michalski and the same male during which they discussed escape options.
Video footage from other nearby agencies was reviewed by police.
Law enforcement officers proceeded to the Meijer gas station, where an employee indicated that a woman resembling the description provided had visited and requested to use the phone. The phone number used by this woman coincided with the one Michalski had dialed from the corrections center.
Law enforcement officers also visited the Circle K located on East Wooster Street to investigate whether Michalski had visited the establishment.
A staff member at the location disclosed that at approximately 2:15 p.m., an individual fitting the description entered the premises alongside a companion.
