Lexington, KY – A “potentially significant winter storm” is expected to reach Kentucky on Sunday, according to the weather service.
According to a Wednesday afternoon National Weather Service report, a “potentially significant winter storm” is likely in the Louisville area on Sunday and Monday, with snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
Snow is forecast to start Sunday morning and change into a “wintry mix” throughout the day.
“There is a threat of significant icing over the northern half of Kentucky, mainly along and north of the Western Kentucky and Bluegrass Parkways,” according to the weather service.
A few chances for light precipitation are expected over the next few days, with cooler temperatures remaining over the region for the foreseeable future.
