Race Day Live (Los Angeles, CA) – In the MacArthur Park of Los Angeles, six people were shot during what were characterized as gang-related shootings. The police are investigating the incident, which took place overnight.
Around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, four victims were approached by a suspected gang member in the Westlake district, specifically in the 600 block of South Alvarado Street.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department verified to KTLA that the suspect drew a .22 caliber handgun and began shooting, hitting all four victims.
The gunman then ran away on foot, heading south to Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street, where he shot a fifth victim in MacArthur Park.
According to the spokesman, a second shooter then shot a sixth victim on the east side of Alvarado Street, which is located near the Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro station.

Three of the victims were transferred with life-threatening injuries, but the conditions of the other three victims were not known right away.
The investigators think that the shooting is connected to a gang, and that both of the suspects are members of the “CRS” gang.
According to a witness, there are four rival gangs in the region, and they believe that the shooting that took place on Wednesday was “retaliation” for something that happened on Tuesday.
