QUEENS VILLAGE, Queens— A guy who kidnapped and sexually molested a 9-year-old child died in a car accident following a brief police pursuit in Queens on Friday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The suspect, Wayne Neol, abducted the youngster while she was waiting for her grandmother outside a bathroom inside a Key Food on Jamaica Avenue in Queens Village around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.

Neol grabbed the girl’s hair, brought her to his car, and drove away before forcing her to perform a sex act, according to authorities. A good Samaritan stopped the attack, and he drove back to the store, where he assaulted the girl again, according to authorities.

“That survivor will never be the same,” NYPD Assistant Chief Jason Savino stated at a briefing on Friday.

Police said Neol fled the scene in a four-door Honda Civic.

Around 12:30 p.m. Friday, officers attempted to stop the suspect in his car at 212th Street and Hillside Avenue. They pursued him until he ran a stop sign and collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee two blocks away around 90th Avenue and 212th Street, according to the NYPD. The Jeep driver was uninjured and remained on the scene.

Neol, 64, was rushed to the hospital and died, according to authorities.

Neol has four past arrests, according to authorities. The most recent case included an alleged robbery in Queens. Police said he seized a woman on the street, forced her into the same car, drove her to another area, and robbed her at knifepoint.
