Race Day Live After the success of the 50501 Protests earlier this week, multiple organizations in southeastern Michigan are joining forces for the upcoming Resistance Summit.
The goal is to keep activist energy alive and focus on real political action at the local level.
The summit will include Zoom lectures covering key issues like health care, immigration rights, and how to start local political movements.
Ken Whittaker, executive director of Michigan United, says the event is about creating lasting change rather than just a one-time protest.
“We don’t want a situation where people gather, get angry, and then forget about it,” Whittaker explains. “This summit is about long-term organizing and real action at the local level.”

He believes protestors frustrated with figures like President Trump and Elon Musk should use that energy to educate themselves on political issues.
