Baird, already on his way to Richmond, received urgent news from his fiancee, Victoria. Doctors had advised Victoria to undergo emergency labour due to concerns about their unborn baby’s health.
In a selfless act of love and support, Baird chose to forego his NASCAR debut and return to Michigan to be by Victoria’s side in the hospital. Their son, Brody, was born healthy later that night.
