Police and other sources say that a migrant raped a woman with a knife in New York City, close to a busy beach boardwalk in Brooklyn.

The New York City Police Department told Fox News Digital that the event took place in Coney Island around 9 p.m. on Sunday near Surf Avenue and West 16 Street.

“When police arrived, they were told that two unknown people had pushed a 46-year-old woman to the ground while holding a knife to her throat. “One of the people raped the victim against her will,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “A 34-year-old male victim attempted to intervene and was struck with an object by the second individual.”

According to police, the female victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. The male victim, who the New York Post learned was her boyfriend, rejected medical care.

The NYPD named the suspects as Daniel Bonilla Davon, 24, and Leonardo Moreno, 37. Both of them are homeless.

Fox News was told by an NYPD source that Davon-Bonilla is a migrant from Nicaragua. He is being charged with first-degree rape and sexual abuse.

On the other hand, Moreno has been charged with second-degree violence.

The event happened outside of a hotel where asylum seekers were staying. The NYPD source also told Fox News that Davon-Bonilla had been arrested in early April for a sexual crime.
