(Oklahoma) – A man from Oklahoma has been sentenced to federal prison for using his deceased friend’s identity to collect Social Security benefits.
Court Sentences Terry Ross Killion
On January 31, 2025, U.S. District Judge John F. Heil, III, sentenced 43-year-old Terry Ross Killion to 24 months in prison.
He will also serve one year of supervised release and must repay $116,763 in restitution.
How Killion Stole His Friend’s Identity?
Court documents show that in 2019, Killion took personal information from his late friend, Kelly Davis.
He used this stolen identity to open several accounts and contacted the Social Security Administration (SSA), pretending to be Davis.
This scheme allowed Killion to receive Social Security payments meant for Davis, costing the government thousands of dollars.
Authorities Uncover the Fraud
Federal investigators discovered Killion’s crimes through an investigation. Once his fraudulent activities were exposed, he faced legal charges that led to his conviction and sentencing.

Killion Remains in Custody
Killion is currently in custody and will be transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to serve his sentence.
