Rajah Caruth recently made history as the third Black driver to win a NASCAR national series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Despite the excitement of his first victory, Caruth remains focused on his upcoming races and long-term goals.
Caruth’s journey into racing began after watching the movie “Cars” as a child. He started racing virtually on iRacing, catching the attention of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program. Since then, he has steadily climbed the NASCAR ladder, competing in various series.
Away from the track, Caruth is a senior at Winston-Salem State University, pursuing a degree in Motorsports Management. Balancing his racing and academic commitments keeps him busy, but he remains determined to succeed in both areas.
Caruth’s recent victory has earned him praise from fellow drivers, including his mentor Bubba Wallace and teammate Kyle Busch. Despite limited opportunities for Cup Series drivers in lower divisions, Caruth values the experience of racing against them and believes it improves his own skills.
Looking ahead, Caruth is eager to compete at Bristol Motor Speedway alongside Busch and continue his pursuit of success in NASCAR.
Rajah Caruth’s historic victory at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway marks just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting career in NASCAR.
