Detectives with the Redding Police Department have identified two adolescents as suspects in an early Friday morning shooting that killed two individuals and injured three others.
Redding police identified Andrew Greer-Herrera, 19, of Lookout, California, as the principal suspect in the shooting, according to a Facebook post released Saturday night. According to the Facebook post, detectives have acquired an arrest warrant for Greer-Herrera for homicide, and his present whereabouts are unknown.
Detectives also acquired an arrest warrant for Trevon Evanoff, 18, for conspiracy in connection with the incident, according to police. Evanoff’s whereabouts are also unknown, Redding police stated in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Detectives are requesting assistance in locating both of the listed individuals.
Redding police officers encouraged the public not to contact the persons if they were spotted, as the suspects could be armed and dangerous, but to phone the Shasta Area Safety Communications Agency (SHASCOM) at 911.
On Friday, Redding Police Sgt. Aaron Hollemon told the Record Searchlight that the shooting did not appear to be random.
The shooting, which occurred outside a strip mall on the city’s south side shortly before 2:45 a.m. on Friday, killed two males and injured three other adults. According to police, the three injured people, two women, and one male, were transferred to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries caused by the shooting. Two of the victims were treated and released from the hospital, but one female adult victim remained there, authorities said Saturday.
The identities of the deceased were withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to a statement from the Redding Police Department.
