Race Day Live (New York City, NY) – A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a pioneering musician, whose body was discovered face down in a pool of blood inside a private ambulette in the Bronx this week, police said Friday.
Sharief Bodden, 29, of the Bronx, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and drug and weapon possession in connection with the death of Peter Forrest, 64, who was located inside a parked bus on Castle Hill Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to authorities.
Forrest, who worked for the Long Island-based Marquis Ambulette, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining injuries all over his body, according to investigators.

The specific circumstances of his murder remain unknown.
The victim, who resided about 5 miles away in the Allerton neighborhood, was a member of the founding lineup of South Bronx-based rock band 24-7 Spyz, also known as P. Fluid.
The band once opened for Jane’s Addiction during their Ritual de lo Habitual tour. Forrest later established P.Fluid and the P.Fluid Foundation before starting his first solo project, BlkVampires.
According to his former fiancée, Forrest was a founder member of the Black Rock Coalition, and she regarded him as a nice guy who liked music and was proud to help advance black rock.
The cause of death will be determined by the city’s medical examiner, according to police.
