A 14-year-old girl has been found guilty of three counts of attempted murder after a trial at Swansea Crown Court in Wales.
The court heard that she attacked two teachers and a classmate at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman on April 24, 2024. The teenager admitted to wounding them using one of her father’s fishing tools.
Attack Started After a Teacher’s Reprimand
According to Sky News, the attack began after teacher Fiona Elias disciplined the girl earlier that day. Witnesses said the teen gave Elias a chilling look and seemed to be playing with something in her pocket.
Later, during a break, security footage showed the girl attacking Elias in the schoolyard while she was speaking to another teacher, Liz Hopkin.
Hopkin intervened but was also seriously injured. The teenager then attacked a student.
During the attack, she reportedly shouted, “I’m going to f—ing kill you.”
Teenagers Wanted Media Attention
After the attack, the teen allegedly said, “I’m pretty sure this is going to be on the news, so more eyes will be looking at me. That’s one way to be a celebrity.”
This statement suggested she attacked to gain attention.
However, she later seemed to regret her actions, asking the police, “How am I going to face my family after what I’ve done?”

Teacher Speaks Out After Verdict
Following the court’s decision, Elias expressed concern about school safety. She emphasized that no teacher should fear being attacked at work and that those responsible must be held accountable.
“No one wants to see a teenager found guilty of attempted murder, but what happened on April 24 was unacceptable,” Elias said. “This guilty verdict is not just for me but for all teachers.”
She added, “School staff should never feel unsafe while doing their jobs.”
Trial Highlights the Lasting Trauma
Elias also shared how the attack affected her life. “I wouldn’t want anyone to go through the nightmare I have endured these past nine months. The trauma will not end today with this guilty verdict,” she stated.
She also thanked Hopkin for her bravery. “Liz, the words ‘thank you’ are not enough. Without you, I might not be here today.”
Sentencing Date Set for April 2025
The judge has scheduled the teenager’s sentencing for April 28, 2025. The court will decide the appropriate punishment for her actions.
