Severe Weather Alert: Tornadoes and Storms Threaten Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois!

Good morning, everyone. We’re keeping an eye on a developing system that will eventually strengthen into a strong low-pressure system and a cold front this weekend.

Right now, a warm front is stretching across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley, helping to push temperatures close to 80 degrees in the New York City area tomorrow.

Another part of the system is producing heavy showers and thunderstorms in Texas and Oklahoma, fueled by moisture from Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico.

Soon, low pressure from the upper Rockies will pull these pieces together, forming a classic spring storm system.

This will increase the risk of severe thunderstorms from the Gulf States to the Central States, starting tomorrow and lasting through Monday.

The highest chance for severe weather will be from late Sunday into early Monday.

From the Southwest to the Northeast, expect strong to severe storms in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana.

The main threats will be damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. There’s also a chance for some strong tornadoes to develop from this system.
