We all love our pets and would do anything to keep them safe. But sometimes, despite our best efforts, they go missing, leaving us heartbroken and searching for answers.
This is one of those heartbreaking stories without a happy ending. By sharing it, we hope to help a grieving owner find closure.
Recently, a dog’s body was discovered along the Yellowstone River near Emigrant, with a gunshot wound revealing its tragic end.
The dog was Bandit, a beloved hound owned by Laura Clem of Paradise Valley.
Bandit and his companion, Boone, went missing on January 13 while running the Sphinx Creek Trail near Corwin Springs.
Now, Laura is asking for help from the community to find out who is responsible.
“They rely on us to protect them. When you’re not there and someone intentionally harms them, it’s hard to understand…
The dogs had GPS trackers, but the signals went dead that night—or were turned off,” Laura Clem shared.
Locals and friends searched the area where the dogs disappeared but found no trace of them. Now that Bandit’s body has been found, it’s clear that this wasn’t just a case of them running off—someone harmed them.
If you have any information about what happened to Bandit or Boone, please contact the Park County Sheriff’s Office at (406) 222-2050.
