The USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) began delivering food stamps in September. Some states sent all of their contributions first.
Some individuals may get up to $527, but they must reside in Hawaii. Alaska and other territories, such as Guam and the United States Virgin Islands, also make larger payments than the 48 contiguous states.

The largest SNAP benefits before September 11, 2024
The state of Hawaii will issue the largest Food Stamp checks before September 11. Alaska sends larger payments, but the state stopped delivering money on September 1, so there are no payments this month.
While an individual might earn $527 from SNAP in Hawaii, a family of four can receive up to $1,759. If you have eight individuals living in the same residence, it might cost up to $3,166.
Keep in mind that in the 48 contiguous states, an individual’s maximum SNAP payout is $291. A family of four costs $973, while a family of eight costs $1,751. So there is a significant difference. Here are additional paydays in Guam, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Guam can send up to $2,581 for eight.
Guam: September 1–10.
Puerto Rico: September 4–22
The District of Columbia: September 1–10.
