A 13-year-old girl was stabbed several times in East Yorkshire, and a young boy has been charged with attempted murder.

Police in Hull said the kid was found on the side of the A63 dual carriageway in Hessle at about 6:50 a.m. on Friday with injuries that could kill them.

After being stabbed and cut in the neck, abdomen, chest, and back, she is still in a critical but stable state in the hospital.

For legal reasons, the boy, who is 14 years old, can’t be named. He has been charged with attempted murder and having a bladed object.

He has been taken back into prison and will go to Hull Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Six teens were arrested at first on suspicion of trying to kill someone after being found in the woods near the scene of the crime on Friday.

Police say that the four teens—two girls, ages 14 and 15, and three boys, ages 15, 16, and 17—were freed on bail.

Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers said on Saturday that the person who was taken knew the person who was hurt.
