The Windows 11 24H2 update had previously caused problems for users, including errors in visual layouts and weaknesses in specific wallpaper programs. And now, as Microsoft reveals in a support post, some users without administrative privileges are unable to change the time zone in the Date & Time view, among other issues connected to the critical Windows 11 update.
A Feedback Hub article also mentions a time issue while exiting Sleep Mode, specifically after around one out of every five nightly sleep cycles. There is also a report that the time does not sync properly after daylight saving time. To put it another way, the update does not disrupt the time zone but rather changes the toggle or makes it extremely difficult to modify.
Switching gears, the problems don’t stop there; the Windows 11 24H2 upgrade also includes audio defects, such as USB audio issues that harm games. Windows Latest also discovered a fault that causes sound issues, which increases to 100% when using a USB digital audio converter (DAC) system.
Microsoft claims that this is not the result of any changes to user policies, permissions, or Windows 11 settings. If you have administrative access, you will not encounter the problem; however, Microsoft provides a fix if you do not.
According to the software giant, you may change the time zone using the Date and Time area of the Windows Control Panel: “To accomplish this, enter the start menu and type ‘control panel,’ then select the top result. When the Control Panel displays, use the search box in the upper right corner of the window to enter ‘change the time zone.’ Choose the top result. The matching window can also be accessed straight from the Run dialog (press the Windows key and R on your keyboard) by entering the command ‘timedate.cpl.'”
Microsoft confirmed that it is currently examining the issues and will provide consumers with a resolution in the next Windows release.
