Two Kentucky Police Officers Injured in Shooting; State Police Launch Investigation

Two Bowling Green police officers were hurt in a shooting on Wednesday, the Bowling Green Police Department said.

The shooting happened at the LifeSkills center on Woodway Drive in Bowling Green. Two police officers were hurt, according to Bowling Green police spokesman Ronnie Ward.

The police officers were taken to the hospital and then released.

There was no other information about the killing that could be shared. Allen Shirley, a trooper with the Kentucky State Police, said that the KSP is looking into the killing.

LifeSkills is a private, non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities, mental illness, and addiction. This group gets about 30% of its money from the Kentucky Department for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addiction Services.

People in Bowling Green can go to more than one LifeSkills facility. The one on Woodway Drive is the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit. LifeSkills said in a statement that the ACSU will not be open for the rest of the day, but that all of their other services will be running as normal.
