BEAVERCREEK, Ohio – A woman from Wisconsin, 52 years old, was taken to Nebraska on Tuesday morning after being linked to an investigation into a possible death in Ohio.

A news statement says that police in Beavercreek, Ohio, were called to the 1800 block of Maple Lane about a death that seemed suspicious. When the Beavercreek Police Department got there, they found the victim, who was named Michael Corrigan and was from Beavercreek.

The police think Corrigan died from a gunshot wound. Also called to the scene to help gather evidence was the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Because of the probe, a warrant for the arrest of 52-year-old Janel M. Nelson from Thorp, Wisconsin was issued. The warrant was served by the Omaha, Nebraska Police Department on Tuesday, August 27. Nelson was then held.

Police say they found Nelson’s location thanks to a post on social media. They also say that license plate readers helped them confirm where she was at the time of the crime and as she drove west toward Nebraska. As soon as possible, Nelson will be sent back to Ohio.

A gun that police think was used in the crime was found in the car Nelson was driving. Nelson will be charged in Greene County Common Pleas Court when she gets back to Ohio.
