If you’re single and looking for love, some cities make it easier than others. According to a new study by Consumer Affairs, one North Carolina city ranks among the worst places for singles in the U.S.

Where Does North Carolina Rank?

Cary, NC, landed near the bottom of the list at #147 out of 150. The study considered factors like dating opportunities, cost of living, quality of life, and dating interest.

While Cary is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, it’s not great for singles—only 340 out of every 1,000 residents are single.

Where’s the Best City for Singles?

Rochester, New York, took the top spot, thanks to its affordability, high quality of life, and a single population of 682 per 1,000 residents.

According to the U.S. Census data, with over 127 million single adults in the U.S., dating isn’t always easy, but where you live can make a big difference.
