In a spate of unsettling incidents, New York City witnessed a night marred by violence as two individuals fell victim to gunfire, while another faced a stabbing in different locations across the city.
The most recent occurrence transpired around 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, just outside the Epic Lounge in Ozone Park. A 23-year-old woman became the target of a gunshot, sustaining a leg injury.
She was promptly taken to Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. As of now, authorities have made no arrests in connection with this incident.
On Friday evening, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left thigh near a subway station on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, shortly before 8 p.m. The teenager was expeditiously transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition.
Simultaneously, in Brooklyn, a 17-year-old boy found himself stabbed in the chest with an unknown sharp object around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, near Flatbush Avenue.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect, described as a bearded man in his 20s wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, is currently at large.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with either of these incidents, leaving the community on edge and law enforcement actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the violence.
This disturbing surge in violence underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the city in ensuring public safety.
