Today, the SpaceX Dragon capsule completed its six-month journey to the International Space Station (ISS) and splashed down off the coast of Florida. Carrying seven astronauts, it was SpaceX’s seventh operational human spaceflight for NASA and the 11th time humans were launched into orbit by SpaceX.
The capsule’s return was a stunning sight as it descended with parachutes, ending its voyage from space to sea. Earlier, the crew bid farewell to the ISS, comprising astronauts from Japan, Russia, Europe, and the US.
Space expert Matt Bloxham highlighted the significance of the mission, emphasizing SpaceX’s role in paving the way for ambitious endeavours like lunar missions.
The successful return showcases SpaceX’s expertise in space travel, with its reusable spacecraft driving down costs and increasing reliability. The precision landing demonstrated SpaceX’s capability to execute complex manoeuvres.
