The 2024 NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway is gearing up to be an electrifying event with a new twist. Scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024, this prestigious race offers drivers a shot at a whopping $1 million prize, drawing excitement from fans and competitors alike.

This year’s race format introduces an intriguing element with teams required to navigate two different tire compounds. Alongside the standard prime tyre used in recent tyre tests, teams will have access to a softer option tyre making its debut.

Crafted with the same rubber as wet weather tyres but in slick tyre construction, this option tyre adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement to the competition.

In a bid to enhance the on-track action, NASCAR has instituted new rules regarding tire usage throughout the weekend.

Each team will receive nine sets of tyres, including three sets of prime tyres and two sets of option tyres for practice, qualifying, heat races, and the All-Star Open. During the main event, teams will have two sets each of prime and option tyres, with all four tyres on the car required to be of the same type at all times.
