Syracuse Basketball Alumnus Arrested on Drug Charges Linked to Diddy Investigation

2 min read

In recent news, there’s been a lot of talk about hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and a federal raid on his homes in Florida and California.

The raid was part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking made against him in a lawsuit. While Combs wasn’t present during the raid, his two sons were handcuffed by authorities.

Interestingly, a former Syracuse basketball player named Brendan Paul, who walked on for the team, was arrested in connection to the investigation.

He was taken into custody at Opa-Locka airport by Miami-Dade police and Homeland Security agents. Paul was found carrying cocaine and marijuana in his travel bags, according to an affidavit.

Although Paul’s arrest wasn’t directly related to the allegations against Diddy, it certainly didn’t help his case. Paul, originally from Ohio, was released on a $2,500 bond. Despite briefly playing for Syracuse, he graduated from Fairmont State and worked as an amateur record producer.

Paul is also part of the lawsuit filed against Diddy by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, which alleges sexual harassment, drugging, and threats. Jones claims that Paul, besides being a drug mule for Diddy, was also responsible for retrieving guns for the star.

Paul has yet to make a statement about his arrest, but his lawyer emphasized that they won’t address the issues in the media. Meanwhile, the allegations against Diddy surfaced after his breakup with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who filed a lawsuit accusing him of abuse, coercion, and introducing her to a drug-fueled lifestyle.

The situation raises questions about the involvement of others, as authorities might use Paul’s charges to gather more information about Diddy and others allegedly involved.
