At the Granite State YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown, Biden was introduced by Rose Keller, a 22-year-old student at Bowdoin College.
Rose, who battles cystic fibrosis, shared her family’s financial strain, paying nearly $3,000 out of pocket for crucial medications. This heartfelt testimony underscored the urgency of addressing soaring drug costs, a focal point of Biden’s proposed budget.
During his speech, Biden emphasized his commitment to lowering healthcare expenses while maintaining fairness in the system. “I’m doing everything I can to lower healthcare costs to provide people with peace of mind,” he stated, assuring that the budget aims to strike a balance without compromising essential healthcare components.
Touching on a potential re-election and a CNBC interview where former President Donald Trump hinted at entitlement cuts, Biden expressed concern, stating, “He’s still at it.” This added a political dimension to the visit, emphasizing the policy differences between the two figures.
